Meet Jamie Nichols: by day a mild-mannered crossword puzzle book author and quantum physics enthusiast, by night that awkward and slightly desperate girl you took to dinner and a movie, then dumped on the front stoop of her Brooklyn apartment. Jamie knows exactly what love is and spends all of her energy pursuing it. When she first meets her equally strange and awkward new neighbor, Thomas Riley, she pays no attention to him, but as she tries unsuccessfully to date a decent guy in New York City and find out what the hell is going on inside Thomas' apartment at night, she finds herself scared for the first time of actually making a meaningful connection with another human being.
Missed Connection is the result of years of awkward loneliness and self-delusion culminating in the creation of a pee-your-pants, slap-your-knee, good-thing-you-didn't-go-to-the-gym-this-week-because-your-abs-are-getting-a-workout, series of 3-5 minute episodes chronicling life of loner Jamie Nichols as she tries desperately to find someone in New York who reciprocates her earnest affection. Heart-wrenchingly funny, the series takes the classic "looking for love in all the wrong places" theme, subverts it, heightens it, and finds the absurdity of everyday interactions between people searching for their other half.
